Artist's Comments

Playing a bit with blue saturation and apply image -> overlay with these RAWs. Images captured at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Favorite part of this image is the sky in the 3rd image.

Edit: Thanks to feedback I've gotten at RedBubble, I've changed the position of the 1st and 2nd pictures and changed the borders to black.

Edit 2: swapped in a different picture for the second scene so that everything fits in better

This is a very good picture, I was wondering, could you tell me what camera you use? I've been debating about Digital SLR's for Christmas.

I use a Fujifilm Finepix s6000fd. Its not quite an SLR, but has an SLR body, so it controls the same, while being more affordable.

interesting choice in putting the photos together, i like it though, it's tasteful, the third image is my favorite out of them as pieces though

Ha ha, not funny.

I like the really high contrast you've got on the bark. It really makes each ridge and crevice stand out. The sky looks almost icy in its blueness, and I agree with you that the sky in the third image is definitely the best. It's neat how there's different moods in each separate photo. The first looks peaceful, the second feels abandoned, and the third looks ominous.

I'm not too fond of them all stitched together, though. I think the problem is the flow between the pictures: more specifically, the first and second look almost like they could be the same tree, and then the third tree comes along and is jarringly unaligned with the middle one. If that made any sense. Personally, I'm not a big fan of film-strip composited photos; I like them to be separate.

At first glance I thought this was all one continuous picture... I thought you did a good job putting them together. I like the third one best. Something about the sky in that shot conveys the whole "revenge" concept better than the other two, in my opinion. If your deviation consisted only of that picture, I would still :+fav: it, but that's just me. I also like the contrast.

I can't believe you are actually wasting your valuable time by reading this pointless sentence.
